How To Create A Meaningful Vision Board.

Power your year the whole year through.

Happy New Year!

Exciting times are upon us. Entering a new year brings forth inspiration, motivation, and self-empowerment. Here is our chance to leave the past behind and embrace a fresh start. It’s what we do in the new year right? We make plans to set goals to establish new beginnings through our resolutions. Which is often the charge we need to reset our battery packs as we hope to evolve in the next year ahead. Some people write out their goals for the year. Then there are others like myself who choose to create a vision board as a symbol of a lifestyle makeover.

Self-Care Sunday: A Day At The Beach.

A time to disconnect from work to reconnect with family while relaxing.

Summer 2016, I was so engrossed in my work that I didn’t create a chance to take my children on vacation. Looking back, I feel bad because I spent the majority of that summer providing hair care services to my clients instead of allowing parts of the season to be fun for my kids. The only fun my children had that summer was the occasional bouncing between house to house of family and friends to attend cookouts. I vowed to never ever do that again. So in 2017, I did something different. I created summer time business hours so that my family and I could spend time alone and enjoy our summer. Ocean City Maryland is one of our favorite beaches. It is Three hours away from home which makes it all the more perfect for a mini family trip. Here’s how I decided to spend Sunday with my family. Continue reading

I Smile Because I Am A Witness To Your Happiness.

Genuinely Being Happy For Other People & Enjoying The Good Times.

Omg! The month of May has been filled with last minute deadlines (I will share with you later) and FULL of incredible blessings for those closest to me. To partake in the celebration of someone else’s happiness means they love me enough to include me in what matter to them most. I am thankful to be able to support my family and friends the same way they have supported me. With so much sadness happening in the world, it is a joy to experience pure happiness with family and friends. The good times are life long memories that will be cherished forever. This post is dedicated to those responsible for making me smile this month. Continue reading

If You Had A Bad Day Raise Your Hand!

Telling The Truth. Not Every Day Is A Good Day.

Ah, the age of social media. The place where everyone is having fun in the sun. A place where there is no sadness……zero tears. Every perfect moment documented for all the world to see. A place where we are following the advice of all the amazing Maya Angelou quotes…..Following all the rules of getting money and being a boss. The land where every memory and life moment is perfect. Trust me I get it If the highlights of life aren’t viewed online than it didn’t happen. I understand the process because, for six years now, my life and business do live in a world of social media. I’ve been conditioned like everyone else only to share the happier parts. Continue reading

Unapologetic Living: Kelly Price

It’s My Time.

Kelly Price is a legend in the R&B Game. She was one of my favorite musical artists in the 90’s and early 2000. I remember like it was yesterday sitting on my momma front porch on a beautiful Spring day singing Kelly Price song “It’s Gonna Rain.” Oh, you couldn’t tell me I didn’t sound just like Kelly Price. Kelly has never lip sing to any of her songs during a live performance, and you would never catch her singing auto-tune vocals. Kelly Price is an actual singer. Continue reading

First Lady Michelle Obama: Live Out Loud. #UnapologeticLiving

“DAG! You don’t even know me…..Well let me live my life out loud so people can see and then judge for themselves.”  First Lady Michelle Obama.

I waited days to watch Oprah’s sit-down interview with First Lady Michelle Obama. The entire interview was awesomely beautiful, but this section, in particular, spoke to my spirit. Watch Michelle Obama’s commentary on living out loud. Continue reading
