Unapologetic Living: Solange Knowles

Staying True To Who You Are Will Pay Off.

I’ve always been a fan of Solange Knowles. She created a unique musical platform. Despite harsh criticism and being compared to her sister over the years, she remained faithful to her craft.

Solange earns her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as her latest release, A Seat at the Table, arrives atop the tally. It beats out Bon Iver’s 22, A Million, for No. 1 — an album that was initially forecast to bow in the penthouse. It debuts at No. 2. ” www.billboard.com

One of my favorite songs on Solange current album: A Seat At The Table, is Weary. I have a personal connection with Weary. When I hear this song, I feel like it affirms that I am good enough. I do not have to do what everyone else is doing, and even though there are people who try to position themselves as kings over me, it reminds me that they are only flesh and bones. They have no power over me. I love this song.
